Can My Water Help?
Are you a water user wondering how you might use your water rights to restore flows in your local streams? You’ve come to the right place.
The Colorado Water Trust team works with willing water users to improve streamflows in water-short streams. We work within the framework of Colorado water law, and all of our projects are voluntary and market-based. Please read about How We Work to find out more about our operating principles and the tools we utilize to improve streamflows.
We do the legwork so you don’t have to. What does that mean? We do technical analyses, title work, due diligence, coordination with the CWCB, and other transactional processes to determine if your water right is appropriate for the Instream Flow Program. Our hope is to keep transaction costs to you as low as possible.
We know that talking about your water rights can be a sensitive matter. That’s why we keep all preliminary conversations confidential. We will keep you informed throughout our process about when we need to be able to openly describe any transaction or project you and the Trust may develop. Water projects are often public, so some release of information eventually may be required. But we will never release your information without your permission.
If you are interested in learning more about how we might work together to keep your water in your local community, please Contact Us or fill out our contact form and someone will contact you as soon as possible.
If we aren’t able to help you do what you want with your water, we will make every effort to help you find resources to meet your needs.
