What are your New Year’s resolutions?
January 12, 2017
Happy 2017! What are your resolutions for the new year? From what we’ve heard, this year’s resolutions are involving more engagement in Colorado’s vibrant communities, with more people expressing the desire to volunteer and make a difference right in their own backyards.
The Colorado Water Trust has always had an everyone-is-welcome approach to our work, and in that spirit, we offer:
Five Ways to Get Involved with the Water Trust in the New Year!
5. Keep in touch.
Share your news and be sure ours isn’t landing in your spam folder. We’ve got a big year ahead and we don’t want to you to miss a thing! And we also want to know what you think, what you are working on, and what your favorite rivers are. So let us know on Facebook or LinkedIn.
4. Host a screening of The Great Divide.
The historical documentary, The Great Divide, is a wonderful visual way to tell the story of water Colorado. If you would like to host a screening of the film in your home, and share the work of the Water Trust with your friends and networks, please email Megan Begley at MBegley@ColoradoWaterTrust.org. We will provide a copy of the film and at least one staff person to help you put on the event.
3. Attend the 9th Annual RiverBank Fundraiser.
If you haven't been to RiverBank in a couple of years, you're missing out on a great party! Save the date of Wednesday, June 14th at the Denver Botanic Gardens for a beautiful evening of food, drinks, and fun to support the Water Trust. And bring friends!
2. Go to Avanti Food & Beverage and drink Good River Beer.
Last year, Denver-based Avanti generously donated $.50 to the Water Trust for every Good River Beer they sold, and they are doing it again this year! Not only can you enjoy delicious food from their seven unique restaurants, but any time you enjoy Good River Beer at Avanti, you're also supporting the Water Trust! (There are also many other places you can find Good River Beer.)
1. Share the Water Trust with your friends and networks.
Invite your friends to like us on Facebook, forward this enewsletter, share our video, or invite folks to an upcoming event. The more people who know that solutions to our water challenges do exist, the more we can do together.
Here's to a wonderful and prosperous 2017!
