It’s tax time again and you have the opportunity to support citizen watershed groups in Colorado with a donation of proceeds from your tax return to the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund. This fund has become an invaluable resource to citizen watershed groups working to protect, conserve and enhance water resources in their communities.
The Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund (CHRF) has:
* Generated over $700,000 from 95,000 citizens since it’s establishment in 2003.
* Granted funding to 50 local water enhancement projects.
* Leveraged an average $7 for every $1 donated.
This year the Fund is endangered by the downturn in the economy. If the Fund does not generate $75,000 in a single year, it will be dropped from the Tax Check-off Program. Please consider donating to CHRF at tax time and tell your friends about this great resource.
More information on the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund and how it has helped local water enhancement projects in previous years can be found at the CHRF website.
